The spiritual discipline of prayer and fasting is

so important in our lives. It is a means of

humbling ourselves before God, drawing closer to Him,

and making room for Him to speak and act in our lives.

The winter solstice happens on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

It is the first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere

and the shortest day of the year.

Think of it this way: Although the winter solstice means

the start of winter, it also means the return of more sunlight.

It only gets brighter from here!

Kwanzaa is a 7-day festival celebrated in appreciation of African and African American history, heritage, and culture. The name ‘Kwanzaa’ is a Swahili expression meaning
“first fruits of the harvest”.
Each day of Kwanzaa honors principles thought to be fundamental
in promoting strong, productive communities in Africa.

They are Umoja (Unity); Kujichagulia (Self-Determination);

Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility); Ujamaa (Cooperative economics); Nia (Purpose); Kuumba (Creativity); and Imani (Faith)

Despite its relatively new history, Kwanzaa is observed by

millions of Black Americans in the United States.

This year’s Watch Night service will be held in-church and streaming LIVE
on Facebook and YouTube. Join us as we enter the New Year with prayer and praises!

Birthdays are so special. On your special day,

all of us at RLOC send you this wish...
